Exodus 2:9-10

 01/16/2015 God is so constantly amazing. Pharaoh wanted to destroy the Hebrew boys, but his daughter finds a Hebrew baby boy. "And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, (Moses mother) 'Take the child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.' So the woman took the child and nursed him. When the child grew up, she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, 'Because,' she said, 'I drew him out of the water'" Exodus 2:9-10 (ESV). Pharaoh, who wants to kill the Hebrew boy children, pays for a Hebrew woman to nurse a Hebrew boy. The Hebrew boy is a part of his family, and this Hebrew boy will lead the Hebrews out of Egypt and destroy the Egyptian army. Lord, you cause your greatest enemies to do your work and not even know it. When it seems your enemies are winning, remind me of this story so I will never be discouraged.

"Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
