Genesis 49:5-7 (ESV)

 Because of their anger two tribes could not be blessed. This was Jacob's blessing for Simeon and Levi. "Simeon and Levi are brothers; weapons of violence are their swords. Let my soul come not into their council; O my glory, be not joined to their company. For in their anger they killed men, and in their willfulness they hamstrung oxen. Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce, and their wrath for it is cruel! I will divide them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel" Genesis 49:5-7 (ESV). Angry people take control, so the tribe of Levi was broken into 48 different cities, and Simeon's land was surrounded by the tribe of Judah, and by the time the Israelites entered Canaan they were no longer mentioned. These two tribes became the least significant tribes in Israel. Lord, help me not to let anger destroy me or my relationships. I want to trust you to be in control of people, so I won't feel the need to control them by anger.

"Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
