Exodus 21: 33-34 (ESV)

The laws that God gave the people of Israel made it clear that God's approval of them was based on treating others as they would want others to treat them. Example: "When a man opens a pit, or when a man digs a pit and does not cover it, and an ox or donkey falls into it, the owner of the pit shall make restoration. He shall give money to its owner, and the dead beast shall be his” Exodus 21: 33-34 (ESV). Who would think that digging a pit could be worship of God or a sin? Lord, I am worshiping you today by treating people the way you are treating me. May my worship of you be pure and holy.
