Leviticus 6:4-6 (ESV)

04/16/2015 - The people of Israel asked Aaron to make gods for them because Moses had been gone to meet with God too long in their minds, so Aaron told them to bring him their gold. "And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf." But when Moses confronted Aaron about the idols, Aaron blamed the people because they demanded idols. Aaron explained: "So I said to them, 'let any who have gold take it off.' So they gave it to me, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf'" Exodus 32:4,24 (ESV). Our human nature wants to blame someone else for our sin. "I lost my temper because of what you said." Lord, give me the integrity to accept full responsibility for the sins I commit today.

Lord, I wonder how many times you have tried to help me, but I didn't take advantage of the opportunity you provided. Forgive me for ignoring opportunities to minister and witness, and help me today to take advantage of every opportunity you give me to serve you.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
