Leviticus 26:3,5 (ESV)

 God's promise: "If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, . . . .  Your threshing shall last to the time of the grape harvest and the grape harvest shall last to the time of sowing. And you shall eat your bread to the full and dwell in your land securely" Leviticus 26:3,5 (ESV). If God's people put into practice what God tells them to do, he promises the necessities of life and security. Lord, you have kept this promise to me. I ask you to give me a greater passion to do what I know you want me to do and trust the material things to you.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
