Leviticus 26:6-7 (ESV)

 God's promise: "If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, I will give you peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And I will remove the harmful beasts from the land and the sword shall not go through your land. You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword" Leviticus 26:6-7 (ESV). Our peace does not come from the absence of danger or difficulty, but from the confidence that God will remove the dangers and give us the ability to overcome the people who are a threat to us. Lord, give me the trust in you to do whatever you tell me to do and not to look at my ability for peace, but to trust your wisdom and strength.

"Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
