Numbers 7:12-88 (ESV)

The tabernacle was completed and ready to be dedicated, and each tribe was to bring their offerings for the dedication of the altar. The chief of each tribe brought exactly the same offering, one tribe each day for 12 days in a row and each one is listed individually. Numbers 7:12-83 (ESV) Then in Numbers 7:84-88 (ESV) there is a total of all 12 tribes' gifts. It is hard to read because it is so repetitive. I think that God is telling us that he notices what every one of his people does, and he values what we do to show our love and commitment to him as our Lord. Lord, I want my life today to be an offering to you. Show me what you want to change in me and what I can do to bring you honor and praise.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
