Isaiah 24:21-22 (God's Word)

It does seem that things are out of control in this world, but God told Isaiah long ago that no one and nothing in the whole universe will escape his judgment. "On that day the Lord will punish heaven's armies in heaven and earth's kings on earth. They'll be gathered like prisoners in a jail and locked in prison. After a long time they'll be punished" Isaiah 24:21-22 (God's Word). Lord, constantly remind me that nothing in the universe is out of your control.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
