Jeremiah 6:13-14;19 (God's Word)

God is loving and kind, but he is also holy and just. He will only take so much. "All of them, from the least important to the most important, are eager to make money dishonestly. All of them, from Prophets to priests, act deceitfully. They treat my people's wounds as though they were not serious, saying, 'Everything is alright! 'But it's not alright. Are they ashamed when they do disgusting things? No, they're not ashamed. They don't even know how to blush. So they will die with those who die. They will be brought down when I punish them' says the LORD.... Listen, earth! I'm going to bring disaster in these people. It is the result of their own plots, because they won't pay attention to my words. They reject my teachings" Jeremiah 6:13-14,19 (God's Word). Lord, may your words be more important to me than even my life.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
