Ezekiel 2:1-2 (God's Word)

The God of the Bible communicates with people. Ezekiel the prophet reported this: "He said to me, 'Son of man, stand up and I will speak to you. As he spoke to me, the Spirit entered me, stood me on my feet, and I heard him speaking to me" Ezekiel 2:1-2 (God's Word). While I have never heard God speak with my ears, I have recognized his "speaking" by the thoughts that come to my mind. I have learned that thoughts about what I have done wrong and how I should think and act are sometimes communication from God. I check on these thoughts by asking in my mind if God wants me to do something about what has come to my mind. If thoughts, consistent with the Bible, then come to me, I understand that God is talking with me. Lord thank you for your eagerness to communicate with me. Help me to always act on what you tell me.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
