Micah 3:8 (God's Word)

The spokesman for God is sometimes in a difficult spot. We want to hear something that is encouraging and that we like, but God does not always have something pleasant to tell us. Beware if the message is always nice. "But I am filled with the power of the LORD'S Spirit, with justice, and with strength. So, I will tell the descendants of Jacob about their crimes and the nation of Israel about its sins" Micah 3:8 (God's Word). Who would choose a doctor because every time they went to see him, he told them that they were doing great, even if it were not true? Lord, give me a spirit of humility that desires the truth even when it is not pleasant.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
