Zechariah 10: 4-5 (God's Word)

God chose Israel, a small nation, and many times chose people who were insignificant through whom he worked. God did not want his people to have horses in war because they were the "atom bomb" of weapons at that time. This is God's plan: "From them will come a cornerstone, from them a tent peg, from them a battle bow, from them every leader. Together they will be like warriors who trample the enemy in the mud in the streets. They will fight because the LORD is with them. They will put to shame those who ride on horses" Zechariah 10:4-5 (God's Word). Never let your limitations cause you to think that you cannot be successful in what God gives you to do. Lord, teach me to consistently expect powerful results from obedience to you.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
