1 John 4:15 (God's Word)

This is an amazing reality: "God lives in those who declare that Jesus is the Son of God, and they live in God" I John 4:15 (God's Word). Because I accept Jesus as having the same authority as God and allow God to shape my thinking and choices, then God comes to actually live in me! The creator of heaven and earth lives in me! The wisdom of the one who planned the world lives in me! The power of the one who controls the universe is in me! How can I ever be afraid or overwhelmed? Lord, constantly remind me that it is not I who live but you who live in me. Help me to not depend on what I can do, but what you have promised and what you can do.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
