Genesis 4:5-7 (ESV)

We are always faced with this issue. "...but for Cain and his offering he (God) had not regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. The LORD said to Cain, 'Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it'" Genesis 4:5-7 (ESV). We use the term "out of control" to describe our bad behavior, but, in reality, either we are in control, or sin is in control. When we think or do things that are displeasing to God, we have given control of our minds and behavior to sin. Lord, give me your power to control what I think today and what I do so that you will have regard for me and accept me.
