Genesis 22:13-14 (ESV)

The Lord asked Abraham to offer his only son as a sacrifice to him. He lived several days thinking that the Lord was taking away his only son, but at the last minute, God stopped Abraham and provided a ram for the sacrifice. "And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. So, Abraham called the name of the place, 'The LORD will provide'" Genesis 22:13-14 (ESV). Lord, sometimes it looks like disaster is coming to me or the work you have given me to do, and I see no way to succeed. Help me to remember what you did for Abraham and believe that you are a God who provides everything I need. Help me to live believing that when I obey you that you will provide all that I need.

"Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
