Genesis 37:8 (ESV)

Joseph told his father bad things about his brothers (Genesis 37:2). Jacob gave Joseph, his favorite son, special gifts (Genesis 37:3). Joseph had a dream that indicated that all his older brothers would recognize him as greater than they, and he told them the dream. "His brothers said to him, 'Are you indeed to reign over us? Or are you indeed to rule over us?' So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words" Genesis 37:8 (ESV). We would call Joseph a spoiled brat in our language, and Jacob and Joseph both contributed to the hostility between Joseph and his brothers. Lord, give me a spirit of humility in my relationships with everyone I meet today.
