Exodus 13:3 (ESV)

It was not enough that God delivered his people from slavery: "Then Moses said to the people, 'Remember this day in which you came out from 'Egypt, out of the house of slavery, for by a strong hand the LORD brought you out from this place" Exodus 13:3 (ESV). Lord, I remember that my "Exodus" started before I was born. It started when you died on the cross to provide forgiveness of my sin and to deliver me from the power of Satan. From the time I was a boy I committed my life to you, and you have guided me to save me from the Devil's temptations and power. You have guided me and empowered me to make choices that have given me a life far above what I ever imagined. Today, I remember my "Exodus" and how you have set me free to live. All honor and praise to you, my savior!

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
