Exodus 33: 15-17 (ESV)

God had told Moses to take the people of Israel to the land he had promised, but he was so upset with them that he would not be among them. "And he (Moses) said to him, (God) 'If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here. For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people?' Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and your people from every other people on the face of the earth?' And the LORD said to Moses, 'this very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name'" Exodus 33:15-17 (ESV). God changed his mind as the result of Moses prayer because he knew Moses' name, which means he knew Moses' motive and integrity. Lord, I cannot fool you. You know me better than I know myself. Reveal my real character, motives, and flaws that I might know how to pray. Do not let me fool myself with excuses.
