Daniel 8:17-19 (God's Word)

The prophet Daniel lived around 600 years before Jesus was born. He was a man so submissive to God that God trusted him with information he gave no one else. "He said to me 'Son of man, understand that the vision is about the end times.' As he spoke to me, I fainted facedown on the ground, but he touched me and made me stand up. He said, 'I will tell you what will happen in the last days, the time of God's anger, because the end time has been determined" Daniel 8:17-19 (God's Word). God determined 2,600 years ago how he would end this world. Lord, help me to live today as if it were the last day.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
