Matthew 19: 24 (God's Word)

Jesus makes it sound like wealth is deadly. Yet God owns everything and is the most wealthy being in the universe. "I can guarantee again that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God" Matthew 19:24 (God's Word). It must not be the possession of wealth that is the problem, but the attitude with which we hold it. God owns everything, but he generously shares it with all humans, even his enemies. He is not greedy or selfish, but generous and giving. Lord, give me a spirit of generosity, and confront me when I am greedy and selfish.

"Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
