1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (God's Word)

We are taught how to date and select a mate by our culture, but God has his own plans for his people. "It is God's will that you keep away from sexual sin as a mark of your devotions to him. Each of you should know that finding a husband or wife for yourself is to be done in holy and honorable way, not in the passionate, lustful way of people who don't know God” I Thessalonians 4:3-5 (God's Word). Our devotion to Christ means that even our dating and marriage is to be different from the way the world does these things. Lord, expose any part of my marriage that is not honorable and does not reflect your holy nature.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
