James 3:9-12 (God's Word)

"With our tongues we praise our Lord and Father. Yet, with the same tongue we curse people, who were created in God's likeness. Praise and curses come from the same mouth. My brothers and sisters, this should not happen. Do clean and polluted water flow out of the same spring? My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree produce olives? Can a grapevine produce figs? In the same way, a pool of salt water can't produce fresh water" James 3:9-12 (God's Word). The thoughtless, hurtful, mean, and bad things that I say are not accidents; they reflect my heart. Lord, transform me that I would never be ashamed of my words.

1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 (God's Word) Originally published 04/12/2014 This is how we are to treat fellow followers. “We encourage you, brothers and sisters, to instruct those who are not living right, cheer up those who are discouraged, help the weak, and be patient with everyone. Make sure that no one ever pays back one wrong with another wrong. Instead, always try to do what is good for each other and everyone else’ I Thessalonians 5:14-5 (God's Word). Lord, lead me to do at least two of these today.

Colossians 4:2-4 (God's Word) Originally published 04/08/2014 Our spiritual condition is far more important to God than our physical condition. "Keep praying. Pay attention when you offer prayers of thanksgiving. At the same time also pray for us. Pray that God will give us opportunity to speak the word so that we may tell the mystery about Christ. It is because of this mystery that I am a prisoner. Pray that I may make this mystery as clear as possible. This is what I have to do...Epaphras, a servant of Christ Jesus from your city, greets you. He always prays intensely for you. He prays that you will continue to be mature and completely convinced of everything that God wants" Colossians 4:2-4,12 (God's Word).  Lord, thank you for giving me opportunities to speak your message this week; show me how to make it clear, and help me to grow in maturity and convictions of what you want.
