Revelation 3:10 (God's Word)

This is God's preparation for times of disaster. "Because you have obeyed my command to endure, I will keep you safe during the time of testing which is coming to the whole world to test those living on earth" Revelation 3:10 (God's Word). Since we don't know the problems we are going to face or when the world will end, we cannot plan for these things. If we obey God faithfully day by day, it does not matter what happens to us or when the world ends. God will keep us safe. Lord, guide me in what you want me to do today, and make obedience a passion for me. Keep me from being distracted by things that are not important, so I don't get done what matters to you.

Acts 8: 15-17 (God's Word) Originally published 12/27/2013 The apostles realized the Holy Spirit was essential for the Samaritans to live in obedience to Christ. "Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit" Acts 8:15-7 (God's Word). Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit guide me in all that I think and do.

Mark 14: 57-61 (God's Word) Originally published 10/26/2013 "Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against him, but their statements did not agree. We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands.' But their testimony did not agree even on this point. So the chief priest stood up in the center and asked Jesus, 'Don't you have any answer to what these men testify against you?' But he was silent" Mark 14:57-61 (God's Word). I can't imagine the pain of being scourged or nailed to a cross, but I do know what it is like to have people say things about you that hurt.
