Exodus 17:8 (ESV)

Originally published 03/24/2015

The people of Israel were following God's leadership. They had been without food and water and now this: "Then Amalek came and fought with Israel at Rephidim" Exodus 17:8 (ESV). Lord, when I am doing what you have told me to do and have a series of problems, it causes me to wonder if I am doing the right thing. Remind me of this story and remind me to check to make sure I am obeying you and what I am doing is consistent with the Bible. I want to obey you, no matter how hard it might be, and I don't want Satan to control my life with fear.

Leviticus 19:9-10 (ESV) Originally published 05/22/2015 God's method of providing is giving us opportunity. "When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, neither shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the LORD your God" Leviticus 19:9-10 (ESV).   Often God's gift to us is the  opportunity to earn money or to grow spiritually. Lord, I wonder how many times you have tried to help me, but I didn't take advantage of the opportunity you provided. Forgive me for ignoring opportunities to minister and witness, and help me today to take advantage of every opportunity you give me to serve you.

1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 (God's Word) Originally published 04/12/2014 This is how we are to treat fellow followers. “We encourage you, brothers and sisters, to instruct those who are not living right, cheer up those who are discouraged, help the weak, and be patient with everyone. Make sure that no one ever pays back one wrong with another wrong. Instead, always try to do what is good for each other and everyone else’ I Thessalonians 5:14-5 (God's Word). Lord, lead me to do at least two of these today.

Colossians 4:2-4 (God's Word) Originally published 04/08/2014 Our spiritual condition is far more important to God than our physical condition. "Keep praying. Pay attention when you offer prayers of thanksgiving. At the same time also pray for us. Pray that God will give us opportunity to speak the word so that we may tell the mystery about Christ. It is because of this mystery that I am a prisoner. Pray that I may make this mystery as clear as possible. This is what I have to do...Epaphras, a servant of Christ Jesus from your city, greets you. He always prays intensely for you. He prays that you will continue to be mature and completely convinced of everything that God wants" Colossians 4:2-4,12 (God's Word).  Lord, thank you for giving me opportunities to speak your message this week; show me how to make it clear, and help me to grow in maturity and convictions of what you want.
